Your debutante ball is a night to remember, but the lead-up can feel a little overwhelming if you’re not prepared. Here are my top tips to keep the day running smoothly so you can enjoy every single moment.
1. Plan your timeline early
Work backwards from your ball start time. Schedule hair, makeup, and dressing with enough buffer time for snacks, travel, and a few deep breaths before your photos.
2. Book your photographer in advance
Your photographer will be one of the busiest suppliers on deb nights. Booking early ensures you get the time slot and location you want – without the last-minute scramble.
3. Keep your outfit ready the night before
Hang your dress or suit, polish shoes, lay out accessories, and double-check you have any special items (gloves, jewellery, cufflinks) ready to go.
4. Have an emergency kit
Include safety pins, double-sided tape, tissues, lip balm, and a mini sewing kit. These little lifesavers can prevent stress over last-minute mishaps.
